As part of Creative Arc’s development strand, we are offering 5 free places (worth £130 pp) for individuals in the arts, culture and heritage sector in Exeter to learn skills in radio and podcast production.
Over two days, you’ll learn about different styles of audio content, and how to plan and produce your own short audio feature for podcast or broadcast, as well as how to use recording equipment and editing software.
The course will cover:
Understanding different types of audio content
Planning, writing and presentation for radio and podcasting
Interview technique
How to use digital recorders and microphones
Recording technique
Editing, packaging and supplying audio content
This course would be ideal for people interested in telling stories in new ways; local/community radio practitioners looking to develop their output; people with a particular interest in podcasting; people looking to develop a career in radio.
In exchange for a free place on this course, we’d like you to create an audio package about one of our new Creative Arc Commissions, to be hosted on our website. This will involve using your new skills to:
interview one of our current Creative Arc Commission Practitioners (we can provide recording equipment)
shape the content into a lively short audio feature that showcases the relevant Commission
deliver the finished content by 15 September 2024
